Start the day with a ride on the morning public ferry to the island Brač. Besides tourism and olive oil production, Brač is particularly famous for its special white building stone. Since ancient times this stone was used in construction and examples can be seen all over the world, for example the entire Diocletian’s Palace in Split as well as parts of the White House and many other sites were built with Brač stone. Therefore, stone masonry and stone quarrying are still present on the island. You can choose between a couple of hiking options and walk past numerous olive groves, traditional fishermen villages, stone walls and quarries, beautiful coves and pebble beaches. Both walking options include nice coastal parts where you might want to take a dip in the crystal-clear sea of Brač before riding the ferry back to Split.

Pack your luggage and leave for the remote island Vis, the furthest inhabited Dalmatian island that was founded by Dionysius of Syracuse and the Greeks as their colony under the name Issa in the 4th century BC. Most of the island was closed for foreign visitors until 1989 due to the fact that it was an important Yugoslav military base. Even today, Vis is still mysterious and the traditional and authentic way of island lifestyle has remained intact. The walk today is relatively easy, it goes along the bay of Vis where you will have many swimming opportunities. Walk past the Roman baths from the 2nd century and Fort George that was built by the Royal Navy and named after the British King, King George III. You might want to have a cocktail in the lounge bar overlooking the beautiful bay. Continue to the submarine military tunnel that was built by the Yugoslav army as part of their military base. Return to the town centre and explore the east part of the bay.
